The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) warned on Wednesday of the presence of undeclared milk proteins in snowy anise donuts from Spain, which is why it is proceeding to the withdrawal of all batches of this product from the marketing channel.

This was stated in an informative note in which he warned people with allergy to these proteins of the commercialization of the product snowy anise doughnut of the brand Yeast Mother Natural Bakery presented in containers of 220 grams with the presence of milk proteins not included in the label.

Aesan became aware, through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (Sciri), of an alert notification sent by the health authorities of the Community of Madrid and regarding the presence of milk proteins not included in the labelling of said product.

According to the information in its possession, the initial distribution occurred to the autonomous community of Madrid and the Valencian Community, although the agency admitted that "it is not ruled out that there may be redistributions to other autonomous communities."

In any case, this information has been transferred through Sciri in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.

As a "precaution" measure, Aesan recommended that people allergic to milk proteins who may have the affected product in their homes "refrain from consuming it", although it pointed out that its intake "does not entail any risk for the rest of the population".
