On the 12th, the 2023 National Taiwan Federation's 29th Winter Camp for Taiwan Compatriots Youth Camp Inner Mongolia Branch (West Front) entered its last day.

After the camp closed that afternoon, more than 20 young people from Taiwan compatriots will leave Inner Mongolia one after another.

In the past week, they not only enjoyed the scenery and folk life in northern Xinjiang, but also made a group of like-minded friends in the local area.

"This time we invited 8 students from Inner Mongolia University as volunteers to travel with Taiwanese youths. The purpose is to better promote exchanges and interactions between youths on both sides of the strait." Zhang Hailong, General Office of the Liaison Department of the National Taiwan Federation, told reporters, so Mixed formations are not new.

According to the preliminary plan, the campers will be divided into 4 groups in this winter camp, and each group will arrange two local young people from Inner Mongolia to be volunteers.

Volunteers ate, lived and walked with young Taiwanese compatriots to help them better integrate into life in northern Xinjiang.

When young people get together, a simple chat of three or five sentences will be connected. Maybe a little magic or a certain Internet meme can quickly shorten the distance between each other, so that everyone can meet each other and feel like old friends at first sight.

The folk culture of Inner Mongolia, the customs of Taiwan... During the one-week trip, everyone was a teacher for each other, answering each other's questions.

On the bus, in the museum, at the dining table... Such "science popularization" is going on all the time.

Although it was only a short week, the reporter saw in the interview that getting along with young people has long been as relaxed and casual as old friends.

On the ski resort, young people from both sides of the strait who are also skiers learn together with the coaches; outdoors after the snow, everyone chases me to pack snowballs and have a snowball fight, and the subordinates are merciless; the daily dining table is always lively, people are happy Playing board games, chatting gossip, and teasing interesting things about travelling; in the evenings, when you are free, friends you know will go shopping and sing KTV...

"It really surprised me. How can someone be so enthusiastic!" Yang Yunrong, a young Taiwan compatriot, was deeply impressed by the shopping experience in ethnic clothing stores during this trip.

"Our partners in Inner Mongolia took us to two stores, and the price was so high that the boss was speechless."

"At that time, the boss couldn't help complaining: 'Don't just think about them, you also think about me!'" Bao Qingxin, a third-year student at Inner Mongolia University, was a little embarrassed to mention this experience of bargaining.

She said that because she was so happy to let new friends from afar know about local traditional costumes, she "tried too hard".

"Actually, we usually don't bargain like this when we buy things."

"When we changed into Mongolian robes in the Xilamuren Grassland, the boys from Inner Mongolia University helped us put them on. They were very careful, as if their daughter was getting married. I was actually very moved." During the previous discussion and exchange, Taiwan Qiu Bingru, a compatriot young man, not only reaped bursts of laughter, but also empathized with everyone.

"This time, we came from all over the world to gather in Inner Mongolia." Qiu Bingru said that although the journey was only 7 days, I believe it will be unforgettable for everyone.

"There is a saying in the movie "The Grassland at the End of the Sea": Herdsmen believe in fate. Sometimes just one glance is the fate of a lifetime." Bao Qingxin always warmed up when talking about this experience.

"It's fate that we gather here. I hope that the fate will not end because of the winter camp, but that we will keep in touch in the future, and through exchanges, we can work together to create a better future."

"This time, not only you saw us, but we also saw you." Yi Daowen was Bao Qingxin's classmate, and she was also very emotional in the previous discussion.

"Although Taiwan is far away from Inner Mongolia. But in the past few days, I found that our hobbies and thoughts are similar. I feel like I have entered and understood Taiwan for the first time."
