China News Agency, Beijing, February 11 (Reporter Chen Hang) Beijing has experienced a PM2.5 pollution process since the 10th, and the air quality remained at a relatively high pollution level on the 11th. The contribution of regional transmission to this pollution process accounted for 80%.

The Beijing Municipal Department of Ecology and Environment stated that it is expected that the air quality will gradually improve during the day on the 12th, and the pollution process will end.

According to the Beijing Ecological Environment Monitoring Center, on the 10th, the ground in Beijing was controlled by the back of the high pressure. There was an obvious temperature inversion, the relative humidity was high, and it was close to saturation at night. Under the action, the polluted air mass accumulated in the central and southern areas of the region gradually moved northward to affect Beijing, further pushing up the concentration.

From 11 o'clock on the 10th, the air quality reached the light pollution level, and reached the moderate pollution level at 20 o'clock and maintained it.

On the 11th, the air quality in Beijing still maintained a relatively high pollution level.

According to the news from the National Key Laboratory of Environmental Protection and Control of Atmospheric Compound Sources and Control, from the perspective of model analysis, the pollution process in Beijing is caused by the superposition of local emissions under the combined action of the Southwest Corridor and the Southeast Corridor.

Overall, during the period when PM2.5 maintains a high concentration level from the 10th to the 11th, the local contribution of Beijing accounted for about 20%, and the contribution of regional transmission accounted for about 80%.

On the 11th, Beijing felt cold and cold, and the highest temperature at the Southern Suburb Observatory was 3.4°C.

Zhai Liang, chief forecaster of the Beijing Meteorological Observatory, said that from the 11th to the 12th, the humidity near the ground in Beijing was relatively high, and the visibility was low. The lowest visibility was 1 to 3 kilometers, and the local area was less than 1 kilometer.

It is expected that there will be a precipitation weather process in Beijing during the day on the 12th. There will be a phase transition of rain and snow, accompanied by a drop in temperature. People should pay attention to keeping warm when traveling.

As for when this pollution process will end, the Beijing Ecological Environment Monitoring Center said that it is expected that in the morning of the 12th, under the influence of cooling and continuous northeasterly winds, the diffusion conditions in Beijing will gradually improve, the air quality will gradually improve, and the pollution process will end.
