The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has decided to pay a lump-sum death benefit to 10 men and women who died after being vaccinated with the new coronavirus vaccine, saying that the possibility of death due to vaccination cannot be denied.

Regarding the vaccination against the new coronavirus, if the government recognizes that a causal relationship cannot be denied for a person who died after being vaccinated, a lump-sum death benefit will be paid based on the Vaccination Act, and people in their 20s to 90s will be paid. 20 men and women up to the age of 12 are allowed.



On the 10th, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare decided to newly target 10 men and women aged 59 to 89 who died of congestive heart failure, subarachnoid hemorrhage, or sudden death after vaccination.



Of these, seven had underlying diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has determined that a causal relationship cannot be denied based on the death certificates and medical charts.



The type of vaccine and the number of doses given were not disclosed.



This brings the number of people who have been approved to receive lump-sum death benefits to 30.
