As part of its anti-poverty measures, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has submitted to the current regular session of the Diet a bill to revise the Livelihood Welfare Act, which includes the provision of a lump-sum payment to children of households receiving welfare when they find employment after graduating from high school. The policy is to do so.

Children from households receiving public assistance will no longer be eligible for public assistance if they graduate from high school, go on to university, etc., or get a job and become independent, but if they go on to higher education, they will receive a lump-sum payment. , similar support is not available if you find a job.

For this reason, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has decided to provide a lump-sum payment to support people in their new lives and help them become independent even if they find employment, and plans to submit a bill to amend the Public Assistance Act to the current regular session of the Diet.

If the bill is enacted, the lump-sum payment will be 300,000 yen if you live alone, and 100,000 yen if you continue to live with your family and the entire household no longer receives welfare benefits depending on your income. It is expected that people who graduated from high school and found employment in March this year will also be eligible.

In order to improve the learning environment for families with children receiving welfare, the revised bill includes the creation of a consultation service with visiting support staff, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says it aims to establish the system as soon as possible. Masu.
