Yoshiharu Hanyu 9-dan (52) won the right to challenge the "Oshosen", one of the eight major shogi titles, which will start in January next year.

The title match "first meeting" with Sota Fujii five crowns (20) will be realized.

Hanyu 9-dan held the top spot with five wins and no losses in the league match to determine the challenger for one of the eight major shogi titles, the "Oshosen", and faced the final match on the 22nd.

The final match was held at the Shogi Kaikan in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and played against Masayuki Toyoshima 9th dan (32), who was second in the league with 4 wins and 1 loss, and Hanyu 9th dan won by 117 moves.

As a result, Hanyu 9-dan was confirmed as 1st place in the league match, and won the right to challenge the "Osho match".

I will be facing the title holder Fujii Gokaku in the 7th match that will start in January next year.

This is the first title match between Hanyu 9th Dan and Fujii Gokaku.

Hanyu 9-dan has set numerous records, including achieving the first-ever “seven crowns” and achieving an unprecedented 1,500 wins in June this year. I am proud of the period.

On the other hand, Fujii five crowns, including the achievement of the first "five crowns" in history as a teenager, broke all the youngest records from winning the first title to achieving "five crowns", and also won all the title defense battles. It shows an unparalleled strength that makes us feel the “Fujii Kazuo era”.

So far, Hanyu has played 6 times against Fujii Gokaku in official matches, winning only 1, but has maintained a strong performance with 7 wins and 3 losses in the last 10 games up to the 21st.

Attention will be paid to whether Hanyu 9-dan wins the Fujii five crowns in the "Oshosen" and establishes a new monument, "100th title in total", which had been carried over.
