Unable to stand six months before the wedding of his youngest, Jeff Bridges did everything to be able to lead her down the aisle.

And it must be said that it was not won!

Because, if the 72-year-old actor quickly went into remission from the lymphoma he was diagnosed with in October 2020, chemotherapy had made him easy prey for Covid-19.

And it had not failed since he had contracted the virus in January 2021 while the marriage of his daughter Hayley was fixed for the month of August of the same year.

But it was without counting on the determination of Jeff Bridges who called on a coach, present on a daily basis to help him get back on his feet.

“My first goal was to be able to stand up and (at the start) my best was 45 seconds.

That's how long I could hold out,” he recalled in an interview with The Independent.

Determined

“And then it was, how many steps can I take?

OK fine.

Now I'm going to be able to walk across the room – all on oxygen of course,” Jeff Bridges continued.

"Finally, one day, I said, 'Maybe I can do it.'

And the fact is that I was able to not only lead her down the aisle, but also give the first dance.

It was great.

Last May, Jeff Bridges told People that he spent five months in the hospital because of the Covid.

“I had no more defenses (immune).

That's what chemo does - it strips you of your immune system,” he explained.

“I had nothing to fight the Covid and it made my cancer look like a trifle.
