"Nebraska" is considered one of Bruce Springsteen's most important albums. However, when it was released in 1982, it was a commercial flop. The rock star released the relatively slim work between his two rock epics “The River” and “Born in the USA”. The mainstream audience at the time disdained the sparsely arranged, sometimes menacing folk songs. Today, titles like “Highway Patrolman” or “Atlantic City” are celebrated as modern Americana classics.

Now the difficult artistic phase in the work of Springsteen, 74, is to be filmed. This is reported, among others, by the US industry magazine “Deadline”. The title of the film project is "Deliver Me From Nowhere", and the content is based on the book of the same name by Warren Zane about the creation of "Nebraska".

From star chef to musician

According to US reports, Jeremy Allen White will play the character of the doubtful and exhausted Springsteen. White, 33, is best known for his portrayal of star chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in the Disney series “The Bear,” who struggles with grief over his late brother and his inherited sandwich shop.

The musician Springsteen, whom White is supposed to portray in the biopic, also struggles with personal demons. The film is said to be about, among other things, Springsteen's difficult relationship with his father and the depression that the musician struggled with at the time.

“Deliver Me From Nowhere” will be directed by Scott Cooper, who also talked about a tormented artist’s soul in his musical drama “Crazy Heart” with Jeff Bridges.
