Jim Carrey is no longer allowed to travel to Russia.

The Canadian-American actor is on the list of one hundred Canadian nationals who have been banned by Moscow from entering its territory.

This decision comes in retaliation for the sanctions imposed by the government of Justin Trudeau against Russia. 

Jim Carrey won't be traveling to Russia anytime soon.

Monday, November 14, Russia announced to prohibit entry into its territory to a hundred Canadian nationals.

On the list are journalists but also the Canadian-American actor Jim Carrey. 

A ban in response to Canada's sanctions against Russia

This decision was taken in response to "the practice of the implementation by the regime of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of sanctions against the leaders of Russia, its politicians, its parliamentarians (...), journalists and cultural personalities", justified the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release.

Margaret Atwood is also on the list

Writer Margaret Atwood, author of

The Handmaid's Tale

, is also on the list, as are CTV and CBC reporters Paul Workman and CBC's Margaret Evans, Caroline Xavier, the head of the telecommunications security, but also several Canadian personalities of Ukrainian origin.

Moscow accuses them of direct involvement in forming an "aggressive anti-Russian policy", the statement read.
