A wreath laying ceremony was held in front of Shibusawa's statue in his hometown of Fukaya, Saitama Prefecture.

Shibusawa Eiichi was born in what is now Fukaya City, and has been involved in the establishment and development of many companies since the Meiji era, and is known as the "father of the modern Japanese economy."



November 11th is the 91st anniversary of his death, and in front of the statue in front of JR Fukaya Station, about 150 people, including locals and people involved in the establishment of Shibusawa, gathered to lay a wreath. was done.



One by one, the people who gathered put chrysanthemum flowers on the wreath stand and quietly bowed their heads in remembrance of their achievements.



After this, the local kindergarten children enthusiastically performed a passage from the Analects that Shibusawa had learned since he was a child.



A local man in his 70s said, "Since the social situation is currently in chaos, I would like to carry on the spirit of Eiichi Shibusawa and act in various ways."
