The 65th Taiga drama ``Toyotomi Brothers!'' will be released the year after next, and the main character is Toyotomi Hidenaga, who supported his older brother Hideyoshi.
Set during the Sengoku period, the film depicts the story of the unification of Japan through the strong bonds of brothers from the perspective of Hidenaga, who was known as ``the best assistant in the world.''
Hidenaga Toyotomi will be played by Taiga Nakano, a young actor who is active in dramas and movies, including starring in NHK's drama 10, ``The Picked Up Man.''
The script will be written by Hiroyuki Yatsu, who has worked on popular works such as the TV drama series ``Ochoyan'' and ``Naoki Hanzawa.''
This is his first time writing a script for a taiga drama.
At a press conference held at the NHK Broadcasting Center in Shibuya, Tokyo on the 12th, Nakano, who plays the lead role, said, ``To be honest, I feel the weight of playing the leading role in a taiga drama and am excited. "I want to make a drama and play the most charming Toyotomi Hidenaga," he said with enthusiasm.
In addition, Yatsu, who is in charge of the script, said, ``I want to write Hidenaga, who is at the mercy of his older brother Hideyoshi, as one of the highlights.I want it to be a taiga drama that young people can enjoy.''
