A review committee of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology agreed to set the annual income at which full-scale repayment begins to be 3 million yen, regarding the "scholarship for career advancement," which is paid according to income after graduation.

The government plans to consider detailed systems based on factors such as financial resources.

The "scholarship for career advancement" is a new system in which the government pays tuition fees while enrolled in school, and students pay according to their income after graduation.

A review meeting was held on the 11th to discuss the direction, and the committee members who attended agreed that 3 million yen would be a guideline for annual income when full-scale repayment begins.

On the other hand, the majority of respondents said that it would be appropriate to pay 2,000 yen every month until this annual income is reached.

In addition, it was agreed that the annual income of eligible students, including remittances, should be 2.99 million yen or less, unless they have children.

The review meeting plans to compile a proposal next month on the 15th of next month, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology plans to consider the detailed system based on the financial resources.
