Over four years ago, Cissi Wallin wrote in a post on social media that she had been drugged and raped in 2006 and at the same time pointed out a named man.

The incident had previously been investigated by the police but has since been closed.

The named man has always denied the accusations and reported Cissi Wallin for defamation.

Exonerated by the Court of Appeal

Wallin was prosecuted and sentenced in 2019 by the Stockholm District Court for gross slander to daily fines, a suspended sentence and to pay damages of SEK 90,000 to the man.

Both parties appealed the outcome as Wallin wanted to avoid punishment and demanded that the prosecution be dismissed, while the man demanded higher damages, equivalent to SEK 240,000.

Now the Court of Appeal announces that it upholds the Stockholm district court's judgment and increases the damages to the slandered man to SEK 110,000.
