A burial area of high-level nobles in the mid-Shang Dynasty was recently discovered in the Shuyuan Street area of the Shangcheng site in Zhengzhou, providing new clues for the study of the origin of the "Zhaoyu" in the Shang Dynasty.

The Zhengzhou Shangcheng site has a history of more than 3,600 years. It is generally considered by academic circles to be the first capital of the Shang Dynasty, Bodu, with a total area of 25 square kilometers.

According to reports, the burial area is located on the north side of the southern city wall of the Zhengzhou Shangcheng site. The existing area is more than 10,000 square meters. There are two parallel trenches on the north and south sides. The trench should be in the form of an enclosure, and archaeologists are doing further excavation and research work.

In the tomb area, 14 Shang Dynasty tombs have been found that are synchronised with the two trenches, including 3 bronze tombs.
