Two years ago, a boy aged 1 year and 2 months at a nursery school in Osaka city died after eating lunch by choking on food. Documents were sent to the public prosecutor on suspicion of professional negligence resulting in death due to negligence in safety management.

The documents were sent to a 59-year-old female director and a 27-year-old former nursery teacher of the licensed nursery school "Yurikago No. 2 Nursery School" in Joto Ward, Osaka.

According to the police, Shinto Ishida, who was 1 year and 2 months old at the time, died in February after choking on apples and other items served at lunch at the nursery school.

At this time, the former nursery teacher said that Shinto took the apple out of her mouth and put it in her mouth with the hamburger.

During the police investigation, the principal should have instructed the nursery teacher to provide meal assistance policies that suit each child in order to prevent accidents. It was found that there was a suspicion that he was suffocated to death by choking on his throat.

For this reason, the police sent documents to the prosecutor on suspicion of professional negligence resulting in death.

At the nursery school, the goal is to eat everything in time, and the two have admitted to the charges.

The former nursery teacher said, "I felt impatient with the situation where food was not progressing, and I wanted to eat it in time, so I stuffed the next ingredient with an apple in my mouth."

In this case, the Osaka City Verification Committee compiled a report in January last year and recommended that appropriate food assistance be provided according to the child's development to prevent recurrence.
