Patulin beyond regulatory limits

The incriminated batch bears the number LF2205691 and the GTIN code 3564700198254. The date of minimum durability written on the packaging is set at January 25, 2023. Important clarification: only products bearing the additional code 06 or 08 following the barcode are affected by the recall.

The compotes are recalled because they would contain patulin beyond the regulatory limits.

“Mycotoxins are substances produced by microscopic fungi, writes the government site.

These substances can present a health risk in the event of significant and repeated consumption over the long term.

Possible refund

According to the website of the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (Anses), patulin would cause “gastrointestinal disorders with ulcerations, distentions and haemorrhages, even disturbances of kidney function, at higher doses.

If consumers have purchased these batches, they are advised not to eat the compotes and to bring them back to the store.

A refund is planned for customers who arrive before November 19th.
