During the summit on Thursday in New York, the diplomatic crisis between Côte d'Ivoire and Mali will also be discussed.

Tension has been high between the two countries since the arrest and detention of 46 Ivorian soldiers in Bamako accused by Mali of being mercenaries.

In Abidjan, several hundred people marched on Tuesday to demand their release.

Senegalese justice confirmed Wednesday the sentence of the mayor of Dakar Barthélémy Dias to two years in prison, including six months firm, in a homicide case dating back to 2011, in a context of exacerbated tensions between the opposition and the power.

Since September 2021, the conditions for obtaining visas for Maghreb nationals have been increasingly drastic.

Recently, a return to normal seems effective for Tunisians and facilities have been announced for Algerians, but visa applications for France made by Moroccans are increasingly being refused.

All sections of the population are affected by this situation and in particular a large number of students, for whom the risk of losing a year of study seems inevitable.
