The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) announced on Sunday February 25 the lifting of economic sanctions against Guinea and certain sanctions against Mali.

This announcement comes the day after the announcement of the lifting of sanctions against Niger during a summit of heads of state from the region on Saturday in Abuja.

All three countries – Niger, Guinea and Mali – are ruled by military regimes.

More information to come.
