Strange behavior of an obstetrician after he opened the abdomen of a pregnant woman

A gynecologist at a government hospital in the state of Assam, India, has been accused of performing a caesarean section on a pregnant woman three and a half months before her due date, and then stitching up the wound after realizing that the fetus was premature.

Authorities at Karimganj Civil Hospital, where the accident occurred, said on Sunday that an investigation was underway to ascertain the facts.

It was alleged that the doctor tried to keep the matter secret and asked the pregnant woman's family not to discuss the matter with anyone, but her relatives and neighbors knew about the matter when the patient's health worsened after her discharge from the hospital.

"We have received a report of such an incident, we are conducting an investigation to ascertain the facts, and any action against the doctor or any other person, if found to be wrong, will be taken based on the investigation report," the Indian Express newspaper quoted the hospital administration as saying.

The pregnant woman was admitted to the hospital on August 21, after she felt unwell, and after keeping her under observation for two days, the doctor decided to perform a caesarean section on August 23 without doing any ultrasound, although he knew that she would give birth in early December. , according to family members.

After the incision, the doctor realized that the fetus was premature and stitched up the wound again, leaving the fetus intact inside.

The woman was discharged from the hospital on August 31, and the doctor allegedly asked the family not to tell anyone.

However, the woman's health deteriorated once she returned home and her neighbors and relatives knew about it.

The angry family members then raised the case with the hospital authorities, which prompted them to order an investigation, and the woman was then admitted to the same hospital, where the family members confirmed that the ultrasound examination conducted for her revealed that the fetus was unharmed.
