A 45-year-old woman who was in a wheelchair has been seriously injured after being stabbed several times in the abdomen when she was on the left bank of Madrid Río, according to Madrid Emergency sources.

The National Police suspect that she may have been the victim of a robbery by some young North Africans who have escaped from the place.

The event took place around seven o'clock this afternoon in the area of ​​Madrid Río near Pirámides, in the district of Arganzuela, where the Samur-Civil Protection health services have gone.

Doctors have treated the woman for two stab wounds in the abdomen and, once stabilized, she has been transferred in serious condition to the 12 de Octubre Hospital.

Municipal Police agents have accompanied the medical convoy to facilitate the transfer in the best conditions, while the National Police investigates the attack.

After being a victim of the attack, the woman went bloodied to ask for help from several Madrid Calle 30 workers who were in the area.

The workers have helped the woman, have packed her wounds and have notified the emergency services.

In the area, witnesses have indicated that they have seen several young Maghrebi people escape from the place.
