The Pointe, Nakheel's waterfront destination on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, has launched RELM, which celebrates emerging local musicians, a new platform aimed at supporting the region's musical talents and helping them take their careers to new heights.

The initiative represents a new step on the level of the music scene, as it seeks to identify, celebrate and support emerging talents in the Arab world, in partnership with Tik Tok and Anghami.

The Point's RELM program will feature a group of artists: Sandra Sahi, a Belgian singer and songwriter of Iraqi descent, and Nagham Daabil, a Syrian artist, composer and singer, in addition to Hamdan Al Abri (also known as Ibri), the Emirati singer and songwriter, Leah Makhoul, French singer and musician of Lebanese descent, and Noel Kharman, Palestinian singer and songwriter.

The Point announced that the regular Palm Fountain Show will be uniquely designed in line with the program to include the latest songs of a number of artists, to be added to the annual Palm Fountain Show, which is up to world standards.

The program will display content specially prepared for the occasion, in addition to increasing visibility through music playlists with “Tik Tok” and “Anghami”, and organizing workshops with the aim of helping artists take advantage of the main platforms to advance their careers and enhance their presence on the Internet.

For his part, Omar Khoury, CEO of Asset Management at Nakheel, said: “The music scene in the UAE and the region is developing dramatically, and it requires a platform that not only discovers these talents, but also nurtures them in order to achieve the desired success. We found in (Nakheel) an opportunity to join forces with like-minded partners such as (Anghami) and (Tik Tok) in order to support emerging artists, providing them with the means to gain a strong presence, evolve and take their musical careers to new heights.”

He added, "Since its inception, The Pointe has succeeded in establishing itself as an attraction that celebrates culture, music and art, which makes it a unique position that enables it to continue this momentum by highlighting the musical talents that abound in the region."

To celebrate the second anniversary of the launch of The Palm Fountain, The Pointe will host RELM FEST, a unique three-day music festival, from October 21-23.

This occasion will be an opportunity to converge through the language of music, and the event will witness the launch of five new performances that will be revealed for the first time through live concerts featuring the five artists against the backdrop of coordinated fountain shows designed specifically for each artist.

The five artists will also take the stage to perform a mix of their newly released songs.

The festival is scheduled to host celebrities and DJs from the region, while it will witness exclusive food shows and a realistic experience, in addition to watching a fireworks display.

Perfect initiative

Anghami co-founder and CEO, Eddie Maroun, said: “The RELM initiative fits perfectly with our primary goal at Anghami and our vision of supporting and empowering young Arab talent by honing their talents and providing them with a platform to share their voices with the world, as we believe in the potential that Anghami has. It has the music and entertainment scene in our Arab region, and this initiative is an ideal opportunity to join forces with Nakheel and (Tik Tok) to support emerging artists and help them develop their talents and transition to professionalism.”

Omar Khoury: "(The Point) has succeeded in establishing itself as a magnet, and will continue this momentum by highlighting the musical talents that abound in the region."

Next October 21st, the three-day RELM FEST music festival kicks off.
