Young people between the ages of 18 and 25, whether they are students, in integration or looking for a job, will no longer have an excuse not to pedal.

The metropolis of Lyon now provides them with FreeVélo'v, its free long-term bicycle rental service.

This service, unique in Europe and launched last November, was aimed primarily at scholarship students and young people in integration.

It provides a reconditioned bicycle for a period of 3 months to one year, renewable up to two years.

It now extends to all students, regardless of their level of resources.

An initiative that supports recycling channels

To borrow one, those interested must first register online.

They will then have to provide an identity document, proof of address less than 3 months old or a sworn accommodation certificate, as well as a RIB which serves as a deposit.

Bikes can be picked up at branches, campuses or at events organized in September.

The metropolis of Lyon thus wishes to make cycling accessible to all, while developing the cycle recycling sector, and supporting the integration of people in difficulty on either side of the chain.
