Four of the five public swimming pools in Brest (Finistère) are inaccessible to swimmers and will remain so for an indefinite period.

In question, for three of them, measures to combat the effects of drought.

Among the decisions taken by the prefecture is the ban on filling the basins since August 10, explains

.

However, the City's Sports Department had emptied the basins of the Kerallet, Saint-Marc and Buisson swimming pools as part of an annual emptying imposed by hygiene rules.

It is now forbidden to put the pools back in water.

This restriction runs until at least October 31.

As for the Recouvrance swimming pool, it is undergoing renovation work.

Swimmers in Brest therefore have only one swimming pool to turn to, that of Avenue Foch.

However, a single site is not enough to meet the needs of all inhabitants.

The Town Hall has indicated that it wants to give priority to young people and high-level athletes.
