Recently, the interview team of the “China on the Mother Riverside” web-themed event walked into the ancient county town of Taiyuan, Shanxi, to feel the rich cultural heritage and humanistic atmosphere here.
Located in the southwest of Taiyuan City, the ancient county town of Taiyuan has a towering city wall and a complete street and lane texture. It was built in 1375 and has a history of more than 600 years.
The city wall is 3,700 meters in length, with 79 cultural relics and more than 300 buildings of various types in the city. In 2011, it was listed as a national historic district in China.
From the opening of May 1, 2021 to the beginning of October, the ancient county town of Taiyuan, which has only been open for more than five months, has welcomed more than 5 million tourists.
