• Three feature films are creating the buzz in Cannes for the Palme.

  • "A hero", "High and strong" and "Lingui, the sacred bonds" are the titles most cited for the supreme award.

  • The closing ceremony is broadcast from 7:30 p.m. this evening unencrypted on Canal +

The Cannes Film Festival is (almost) over!

Now is the time to get into the game of predictions.

Who will Spike Lee and his jury award the supreme award to?

Five films dominate the debates, but since there is only one palm, we will have to choose.

"A hero", the big favorite

A hero

by Asghar Farhadi has everything it takes to seduce the jury with his formidably effective moral tale scenario.

We follow a man caught up in a spiral of lies after having done a good deed.

Greed and family rivalries, rumors and reputations on social networks, the film plays the card of a change of scenery in Iran while remaining fairly mainstream.

"The Olympics", the sensual asset

The Olympiad

by Jacques Audiard is also high in the predictions.

Much appreciated, this slightly lost thirtysomething marivauding may appeal to Spike Lee.

His superb black and white as the diversity he portrays in a popular district of Paris can touch the president of the Jury.

Especially since this sensual film is of any beauty.

"Annette", everything for the music

We all get up for

Annette

 !

Leos Carax's musical fable and the Sparks soundtrack thrilled festival-goers from day one.

This poetic film about a tragic love story between a comedian and an opera singer may have marked the minds of the jury.

And all the more so since Leos Carax is a filmmaker as rare as he is talented.

"High and strong", the darling

Haut et fort

by Nabil Ayouch thrilled festival-goers with his tonic and joyful side to introduce the lessons of a rap teacher.

He tries to teach his students to express themselves in music in a cultural center in Casablanca.

We say to ourselves that Spike Lee could be touched both by the subject of this ode to freedom of expression and by a resolutely tonic soundtrack.

"Lingui the sacred bonds", the outsider

We saw Spike Lee go and congratulate Mahamat-Saleh Haroun at length after the screening of

Lingui, les ties sacrés

.

This moving work delves into the daily lives of Chadian women and describes their solidarity in getting out of business in a patriarchal world.

Spike Lee, who announced that he wanted a festival placed "under the sign of the fight" could well lead the jury in its choice.

But, as he also complimented Asghar Farhadi, the bets remain open.

End of the suspense tonight from 7:30 p.m. in clear on Canal + or live on

20 Minutes

.

We look forward.
