Art Jameel, the independent organization that sponsors artists and creative groups, in Dubai, has announced a busy and interactive program for the fall-winter 2021/2022, at its headquarters, at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Dubai.

The program, in which more than 55 artists from about 14 countries are participating, includes a bouquet of new exhibitions: “The Distance .. From Here”, a major group exhibition featuring the works of 11 artists, and presenting selections from the Art Jameel collection, as well as new artistic commissions. The exhibition “On the Side, on the Stage”, which is held under the artistic supervision of the famous architect and writer Todd Reese, presents more than 60 never-before-seen images of the seventies and the development of Dubai. The exhibition “I thought the streets were paved with gold”, the first exhibition in the Middle East of the work of Filipino artist Basita Abad. and "The Artist's Room's Latest Creation", an interactive audio and video work by artist Samson Young.

The program includes a series of activities held in the center and in the open air, including a screening of the movie “The Leap” by director Shorouk Harb, winner of the Han Neffkins Foundation and the Anthony Tabis Foundation 2019. The new edition of the library’s episodes also presents a research by food writer and director Salma Serri.

The center marks the beginning of an annual series of installations this winter by local and international artists, including Nahla Tabbaa and Trevor Young, at Jaddaf Waterfront Art Park.

All exhibitions this season are accompanied by publications in Arabic and English, published in cooperation between Art Jameel and its partners, which can be obtained from the Art Jameel store.
