The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) celebrates the International Museums Day, which falls on May 18 of each year, which focuses this year on the future of museums "recovery and re-imagining", as its museums in the Emirate of Dubai receive visitors free of charge, confirming the importance of Museums are important cultural monuments that connect members of society with their rich history and authentic heritage, consolidating their connection with the ancient past of the state, and entrenching the inherent values and traditions in them.

The Director of Museums Department and Acting Executive Director of the Culture and Heritage Sector, Mona Faisal Al Gurg, stressed the importance of celebrating the International Day of Museums in order to strengthen the relationship between the museum and society, and raise awareness among its members about the importance of museums as pioneering cultural and educational destinations.Al-Gurg noted the commitment of Dubai Culture to the continuous development of the emirate’s museums, and the upgrading of visitors' experiences in them by providing quality services, following the best specialized international practices, and developing various programs aimed at establishing the status of museums as vital centers for the UAE community and global audiences for the exchange of knowledge and cultural dialogue. The authority’s initiative to open museum doors to the public free of charge on the International Day of Museums will give visitors the opportunity to enjoy unique tours that provide them with extensive knowledge to interact with the details of heritage and its rich components.
