The 2020 Hong Kong Honors Award Ceremony will be held in the Hong Kong Government House Ballroom for three consecutive days starting from November 14.

This time, a total of 687 people were awarded titles, the largest number in the past.

Among them, the public service awards and community service awards for handling social events in 2019 and responding to the 2020 new crown epidemic accounted for the highest proportion, and a total of 448 people received the awards.

The President of the Legislative Council, Mr. Leung Junyan, the convener of non-official members of the Executive Council, Chen Zhisi, the well-known philanthropist Chen Dong, and the real estate and construction industry figures Xu Rongmao received the Grand Bauhinia Medal.

Twelve people have been awarded the Golden Bauhinia Star, including the retired former Commissioner of Police Lu Weicong.

In addition, three customs officers who died during the anti-smuggling mission in January this year were awarded the Gold Medal of Valor, including Wu Yongmin, Li Zhiheng, and Huang Zhuobang. They were all taken by their families.

As the epidemic situation in Hong Kong has not stabilized, social distancing is required for the ceremony. The ceremony is divided into nine sessions to be held from the 14th to the 16th. Guests have to take their body temperature and everyone wears masks. The garden tea party after the ceremony has also been cancelled.
