[Explanation] On August 8, 2017, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. On November 8, the post-disaster reconstruction of Jiuzhaigou was officially launched.

On September 27, 2019, the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area was opened for trial and welcomed guests again.

On the occasion of the third anniversary of Jiuzhaigou’s post-disaster reconstruction, tourists from all over the world were "shuttled" between the colorful Haizi and the magnificent waterfalls to get a closer look at the "Wonderland".

On November 8th, at the sparkling sea spot in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, where the “make-up” came back, the azure blue water surface was as flat as a mirror. Surrounded by dense forests, the lake water was shaded in emerald green, like crystal clear emerald.

The collapse of the travertine dike caused by the earthquake three years ago seems to have ceased to exist.

As for Nuorilang Falls, which was also damaged in the earthquake, the soaring torrents rolled down white waves, and the scenery seemed more spectacular than before the earthquake.

Xiao Weiyang, a senior engineer of the Jiuzhaigou Administration Bureau, said that after three years of post-disaster recovery, the two core attractions have "recovered", but the return of the beautiful scenery is by no means easy. Nowadays, more efforts are needed to ensure the integrity and sustainability of the "returning" landscape. .

For things (landscapes) like our sparkling sea, after we restore it, we will not only simply repair it, but we will also conduct ecological monitoring on it.

Ecological monitoring includes our monitoring of this water body, its upstream and downstream, and its own monitoring of its upstream and downstream. It is necessary to compare the quality of the previous water body.

Then, for example, like other areas, we must use remote sensing, which is equivalent to a new technology, to carry out an investigation of its restoration.

[Explanation] It is reported that since this year, Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area has welcomed nearly 1.35 million tourists.

In order to avoid natural disasters such as earthquakes and heavy rains causing safety hazards to scenic spots, tourists, and residents.

Since the earthquake, the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area has built a comprehensive disaster prevention system integrating "civil defense" and "technical defense".

Jian Daijun, a senior engineer from the Planning and Construction Department of Jiuzhaigou Administration Bureau, introduced that since 2018, Jiuzhaigou Administration Bureau has carried out engineering treatments on hidden disaster points in the scenic area, carried out technical prevention and control monitoring of 167 hidden danger points, and conducted detailed investigations on the disaster situation. And risk assessment, and based on this, a professional monitoring and early warning platform for geological disasters in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area has been established.

After the Jiuzhaigou earthquake, a command and information platform for the monitoring and prevention of geological disasters in the entire scenic spot was established through our "technical prevention" means, and some monitoring equipment was installed at the main hidden danger points.

We have a back-end. When monitoring, we can monitor the dynamic situation of the earth disaster in real time at any time through video and displacement.

If it is, for example, it will issue an early warning when it rains particularly heavily.

When an earth disaster occurs, we can know the situation in time and arrange emergency treatment immediately.

[Explanation] As an indispensable force in the "civil air defense" system, every resident and merchant in the scenic spot has taken the initiative to shoulder the responsibility of disaster prevention and monitoring, and many residents even hold multiple jobs.

Because after the earthquake, more attention should be paid to (earth disaster prevention work) than before, that is, there are patrols (personnel) during the day, morning, and night, because the earth disaster is the top priority.

After the earthquake in Jiuzhaigou, the mountains are basically loose (moved). In order to maintain the daily tourist reception, it is necessary to look at the disaster (situation) as soon as possible.

If there is (there is) a disaster safety (problem), we will report it, and then let the tourists in, just for the safety of the tourists.

[Explanation] Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, which has been "healed" for three years, has not only restored its former glory, but also upgraded its infrastructure.

Although it is in the off-season for tourism, there are still many tourists in the scenic area, and rare animals that once "disappeared" have returned to their homes.

Today's Jiuzhaigou scenic area is showing vigor and vitality.

The scenic spot is well restored, because when we drove from the road, it was very smooth, and the traffic was smooth, so there was no problem. The scenery here is really great, and we all need to protect it together. Environment, let it stay forever.
