It is now a well-established ritual. Each evening, the Ministry of Health presents the new version of the map of France of the epidemic activity of the coronavirus. Something to wait for the card of Thursday, May 7 which will be two-color (red / green) and will serve as the basis for the deconfinement device.

This Wednesday, the situation is improving with regard to the circulation of the virus, with three new departments going green: Sarthe, Loir-et-Cher and Yonne. However, the map of hospital tensions remains identical to that of the previous day. So, for the summary card of the two criteria, only the Sarthe goes from orange to green. Twenty-seven departments corresponding to three regions (Ile-de-France, Bourgogne-France-Comté and Grand Est), in addition to Mayotte, remain in red.

The summary card is constructed according to the following principle: if a department is red in one of the categories, it is red in the summary. The orange areas of the summary map "are intended to switch to green or red" before the final map.

In addition to viral circulation and the situation in hospitals, a third criterion should theoretically be added to the analysis: the ability to do tests, a crucial element in planning deconfinement. Edouard Philippe is to unveil the final map this Thursday, with the departments in orange which should switch either to red or to green.

Edouard Philippe had specified that only the green departments could reopen parks and gardens. Primary schools will reopen from May 11 whatever the color, with strict reception conditions. For colleges and high schools, on the other hand, establishments will reopen "gradually" from May 18, starting with the 6th and 5th grades, "only in departments where the circulation of the virus is very weak" (a priori, the green departments).
