Vanessa Zhâ & Olivier Poels 6:58 a.m., April 6, 2024

Gastronomy, leisure... Every weekend at 6:50 a.m., Olivier Poels and Vanessa Zha present a product, a producer and all the good tips for re(discovering) a region.

Vanessa for the launch of the April Holidays, you tell us about unusual accommodation!

That many of you always ask me. So here is my TOP 3 for you! I hope you like Hauteur and Eure, the department... I'll take you near Giverny to Cloé and Laurent. In their water tower! “Sleeping “water perched” at 15 m height, breathtaking view of their domain, the deer, the deer too…So you will tell me “it’s dark and austere a water tower”. Well no ! Already because it is all white, pierced with several windows which means that it is bathed in light, and then spacious: a sort of large loft in light wood on 5 floors: ultra comfort and design. A cozy cocoon! 2 nights Minimum

Your 2nd favorite takes us to the Basque country...

In Anglet, between the hinterland and the ocean on a lake... in floating lodges that you can reach by boat, electric and all made of wood. 2 very elegant lodges, designed for 4 adults: 50 M2, 2 bedrooms with double bed, lounge area and 25 M2 terrace. happiness for an aperitif on the terrace to the sound of the lapping water... and as these lodges are part of the Domaine de Brindos, with its castle and restaurant, you can also take the boat to go for dinner on dry land.

I'm more of a water woman so I validate this one! and your last choice?

Ah, we're going to sleep in the Gard under a spangled vault...but no sparkling stalactic stars, precious calcite crystals...in a cave: that of La Cocalière which offers a totally crazy experience! crazy yes, it must be freezing cold!!! well that's the double magic, the 14 degrees of the cave you don't feel them: you sleep warm in a transparent pyramid of 25 M2/3.50 m high. An incredible adventure which is also a nod to the first expeditions and that of the famous speleologist Pascal Barrier who spent 113 days there in 92 but...not in the same comfort!

Peas

The green caviar has arrived! Favorite vegetable of Louis XVI who demanded that they be planted at Versailles, peas were reserved for the wealthiest until the 19th century. It is in fact a variety of peas harvested before maturity (unfortunately the season is short).

A delicious product that you have to know how to respect / buy them fresh and take a little time with your family to shell them / the peas at the start of the season are delicious because they are sweet and tender, not floury / you barely need to cook them (I roll them in butter or olive oil).

Peas like a risotto

- 1 kg of fresh peas

- 25 cl of chicken stock

- 20 g of parmesan

- 5 cl of liquid cream

- Salt pepper

Bonus: what to do with the pods? A velouté (pods cut and cooked with an onion and a potato)
