The General Secretariat of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Prize for Photography, announced the winners of the "Instagram" competition for the month of March 2020, whose theme was "Faces of Children". The competition saw the Bahraini photographer, Jassem Muhammad Al Shakhuri, win the "People's Choice" award.

The March edition of the competition witnessed a creative Iraqi sweep, through the lenses of photographers Ahmed Abdel Amir Lazim, Wadha Abdul Karim Al Sagheer, and Ali Rahim, along with Saudi photographer Jawhara Saeed Al Zahrani, and Bahraini Jassem Muhammad Al Shakhuri, winner of "Selecting the audience."

"This beautiful child I consider as my daughter, I took her picture in Manama, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain," said Bahraini photographer Jassim Mohammed Al-Shakhouri, winner of the "People's Choice" award. This is my first win so it has a very big place in my heart, and it gave me a great motivation to move forward with photography. "As a photographer, I am inspired by simplicity in things and details that most people don't notice."

Saudi photographer, Jawhara Saeed Al-Zahrani, says about her winning photo: “I took the picture in the historical area of ​​Jeddah. I love taking pictures a lot in this region because of its visual appeal. It is the first time that I win and I have felt that the earth cannot help me with joy. Winning will give me a presence as a photographer in the photographers' societies, and it will give my photos wider prospects. ”

The award’s Secretary General, Ali Khalifa bin Thalih said: “The faces of children have a unique human influence that is almost unmatched in this world. A persevering photographer who is able to endure and be patient, and a calf photographer will not get the best. We got many great pictures, and the win went to the best. ”
