How to distribute mail and parcels during an epidemic? This Friday, six postal unions demand a "discussion" on their working conditions during the coronavirus crisis, according to a press release published on Friday. This letter was sent to the Minister of the Economy and to the CEO of the Philippe Wahl group.

For the unions (CGT, CFDT, SUD, CFE-CGC, CFTC and Unsa), "the security conditions are far from being maximum" at the Post. They note that "the essential missions that La Poste and its subsidiaries must carry out are very broad in concept", with in particular "the insistence on wanting to deliver packages, whatever their nature".

Activity suspended Saturday

"The massive use of the right of withdrawal, throughout the territory, by postal workers, shows a great concern of the agents" note the unions. The discussion they are calling for must "be able to take place between the State, La Poste and trade union organizations", and in the presence of consumer associations and the Association of Mayors of France.

"It should concern, in particular, the definition of these missions, as well as the conditions of their exercise", in "the perspective of completely reorienting the group's activities towards the satisfaction of essential and vital needs of the population, in absolute respect of everyone's health and safety. "

La Poste announced the suspension of its activities on Saturday, "to relieve the postal workers who worked all week". The public group claims to have chosen to give priority to personal services, "in particular for the most fragile, parcel flows as well as essential services rendered in post offices".
