American tightrope walker Nick Wallena walked over the vent of an active volcano in Nicaragua at an altitude of 638 meters. The athlete covered 538 meters in just over 30 minutes. The trick was complicated by the gases released by the volcano: they displace oxygen and interfere with vision. Previously, a man had already walked a rope over Niagara Falls and Times Square.
