They will have voters on hand, so take advantage of it. "Yellow vests" of Saint-Affrique, in Aveyron, decided to organize a referendum on the pension reform on Sunday March 15 at the exit of the polling stations of the 1st of the municipal elections.

This group has already organized in the fall of 2019 one of the first “self-managed citizen initiative referendums”. Only 2% of the inhabitants of Saint-Affrique had moved, hence the idea of coupling this new RIC to an official ballot.

According to Henri-Jean Rozenzwejg, a 58-year-old retired teacher interviewed by AFP, "at least one polling station must be set up in 16 other departments". The "yellow vest" recognizes that the scope of the initiative is above all "symbolic" but, he adds, "if we manage to have several million voters, it will have real weight".

The Aveyronnais count on the 5th "assembly of assemblies" of "yellow vests" programmed in Toulouse from Friday to Sunday to promote their referendum with other groups. They have already contacted unions and leftist parties. "Zero response" for now on this side, they deplore.
