Former Investigator, Tokyo District Public Prosecutor Investigator Kojima Kawashima, died Lockheed incident January 14, 18:40

Koichi Kawashima, director of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office, has led the investigation of the Lockheed case and served as the prosecutor-general of the Osaka High Prosecutor's Office. I was 91 years old.

After serving as a public prosecutor in 1957, Mr. Kawashima led the investigation of the Lockheed case, where former Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka was arrested in 1976, as Chief of Special Investigation for the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office.

He subsequently served as prosecutor at the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office and attorney general at the Osaka High Public Prosecutor's Office, and retired in 1991.

Mr. Kawashima died at his home in Tokyo on August 8 due to aging.
