Nobuyuki Koga, honorary advisor to Nomura Holdings and chairman of the Keidanren council, has been elected as the new chairman of the NHK Management Committee.

Mr. Koga expressed his aspirations at a press conference, saying, ``I want to keep in mind that NHK is run in a healthy and proper manner.''

On the 12th, the NHK Management Committee held a mutual election among its 12 members to replace former Chairman Shunzo Morishita, who retired at the end of his term.



As a result, Mr. Nobuyuki Koga was unanimously elected as the new chairman.



Mr. Koga is 73 years old.



He joined Nomura Securities in 1971 and has served as president and chairman of Nomura Holdings and Nomura Securities, chairman of the council of Keidanren, and currently serves as an honorary advisor to Nomura Holdings.



Mr. Koga said at a press conference, ``NHK is a public broadcaster and has the mission of disseminating information to every corner of the country.In my capacity as the management committee, I am working to ensure that NHK is run in a healthy and proper manner.'' I want to go," he expressed his aspirations.



Regarding his sense of distance from politics, he said, ``What we have to do is pursue what NHK should be, completely unrelated to politics.The benchmark is the relationship between the people, viewers, and NHK's work.'' It's about making people come alive."



On the other hand, Kazuo Sakakibara (65), a lawyer and former chief prosecutor of the Osaka High Public Prosecutors Office, was chosen to serve as the committee chairman.
