The director of MBC News in Saudi Arabia, Malik Al-Rouqi, announced the death of the anchor, Najwa Qassem, in a tweet posted on his official account on the social networking site "Twitter".
The text of the tweet reads: "The death of colleague # Najwa_Kassem, the broadcaster of Al-Arabiya, ... All my condolences to the colleagues and her family."
Kassem worked for the Lebanese Future TV before moving to Al-Arabiya in 2004.
