The Almonte town of El Rocío not only lives its big days during the famous pilgrimage on the weekend of Pentecost Monday. Its other time of the year takes place on New Year's Eve, when this small village of just 1,500 inhabitants welcomes more than 80,000 people to take the grapes and say goodbye on the last night of the year. To get an idea, in Madrid's Puerta del Sol, a classic place where you can see them live 12 bells , there is a capacity of 20,000 visitors.

El Rocío, on the other hand, broke records last year with its 80,000 visitors and this year expects to repeat the figure, as explained by the councilor-delegate of the village of El Rocío to Europa Press. Moreover, this year, due to the proximity with the weekend many people arrived last Saturday and plan to extend their stay until day 1.

Party tips

Not surprisingly, for everything to happen normally before the large influx of visitors, Robles has called for citizen collaboration, prudence and responsibility behind the wheel. For this, the City Council itself has already edited a side with the recommendations and advice on road safety and traffic , protection against noise pollution and fire and health emergencies.

As in previous years during weekend events or holidays with extraordinary influx of people, parking on three streets is prohibited: Lynx, Vetalengua and Imperial Eagle. You cannot park in Villamanrique y Muñoz y Pavón street, where it is forbidden to do it on weekends throughout the year.

Breathalyzer controls will also be carried out inside El Rocío and in order to preserve the culture, tradition and environment, it is forbidden to install stalls, stalls or beach bars. The party does not end on New Year's Eve, but on the afternoon of January 5 a horse ride is also scheduled that will travel to the town of Almonte to make the corresponding offer to the Divine Shepherd.
