Seven out of 10 say that our model is not compatible with the protection of the environment. An Odoxa poll reveals however that in practice, individually, one is absolutely not ready to give up his small comfort.

It is this Friday that an assembly of 150 French people, drawn by lot, will have to make concrete proposals for the environment. But it will not be easy because, in terms of the environment, efforts are always for others and never for oneself!

Yet the environment has become a priority for the French. Apparently, we would be ready for radial changes to save the planet. According to an Elabe poll published this Friday in Les Échos, more than seven in 10 French believe that the current economic model is not compatible with the protection of the environment. In short, we must change everything! This is to say if this citizen convention falls perfectly. 150 drawn French go floor until the end of January to make concrete proposals on how we consume, to move, on housing and urban planning. The goal is to adopt a new eco-friendly lifestyle. These proposals should then come into effect after voting in Parliament or referendum.

Will this Citizen Convention really make things happen?

The problem is that saving the planet, we are all for. But then, concretely, as soon as you go into the details of the measurements, that's where it goes wrong. According to a survey published today in Challenge, the Odoxa Institute has submitted to the French about fifteen very concrete proposals. For or against, everyone can do the test. 94% of French people are ready to sort their waste and 69% are ready to reduce their meat consumption. In contrast, 63% of French people refuse to give up their gas car. 52% of French people also refuse to buy only used smartphones, they want new. 67% of French people finally refuse to accept solar panels or a wind turbine at home. As soon as we enter the hard, it's no. Clearly, change everything is accepting to sort the waste but no more.
This is the tragedy of this fight for the climate. On paper, we are always for but it is rather to the other to start making an effort.
