To embark on such a beloved figure as Lisbeth Salander has been a challenge, says David Lagercrantz.

- It's been difficult because it's such an iconic figure, I've been terrified of doing her justice, but trying to get to know her has been incredibly fascinating. At the same time, the point with her is that you never really get to know her, that she is a mystery.

At the same time, David Lagercrantz has tried to develop the character.

- This time I tried to go a little further, get her to crack up a little neighbor, get that super strong girl to be a little weak, to suddenly actually hesitate, says Lagercrantz and continues:

- I've learned a lot and it's been a fucking challenge and damn what a cool character she is but I think she's the best in fiction.
