During the meeting, the two sides discussed the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in various aspects, especially the parliamentary field, to keep pace with the development and growth witnessed by bilateral relations in various fields, stressing in this context the importance of the role of parliaments in promoting communication and rapprochement between peoples and countries culturally, humanly and socially, and consolidating the culture of dialogue and dissemination Common human values between different cultures and peoples.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his aspiration that the visit would represent a strong impetus for the development of distinguished relations of cooperation between the UAE and France at various levels, especially its parliamentary aspect, which would contribute to strengthening communication and promoting joint bilateral cooperation.
Gerald Larcher affirmed France's pride at the official and popular levels in the relations that unite the two countries and its keenness to diversify its fields and advance them to broader horizons during the next stage within the framework of the existing strategic partnership between them.
His Highness toured the halls of the Majlis, which included the main hall, the palace library and a number of facilities, during which he listened to an explanation about the history of the palace and parliamentary life in France.
His Highness wrote a speech in the register of senior visitors, in which he said: "I was pleased to visit the headquarters of the French Senate in the "Luxembourg Palace", this ancient historical edifice that witnessed important events in French history... and the splendor of architecture and creations of human civilization.
