The President and the French President witness the launch of the UAE-French Business Council

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, during an official dinner held at the Palace of Versailles.. Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies, and Patrick Pouyanne, President of The Board of Directors and CEO of "Total Energy" today the French-Emirati Business Council.

The council - chaired by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber and Patrick Pouyanneh - aims to strengthen economic relations between the two friendly countries in the fields of energy, transport and investment.

The establishment of the French-Emirati Business Council is the culmination of the efforts of the private sector in both the UAE and the French Republic, and evidence of the two friendly countries' desire to develop their economic relationship.

The council's objectives are to enhance economic exchanges and allow the private sector in the UAE and France to communicate with decision-makers from the public sector, as well as identify and implement joint investment projects.

The board includes 18 CEOs from the two countries, who were chosen based on business opportunities and their companies' interest in strengthening economic relations between France and the UAE.

The members of the Council meet at least once a year, in the presence of the ambassadors of the two countries, alternating between France and the UAE.

The next plenary session of the Council will be held in the UAE in May/June 2023.

The Business Council has established specialized working groups for energy, industry, technology, transport and investment. This step aims to ensure the formulation of an effective action plan to enhance economic relations between the two friendly countries. Each group will present recommendations in its field of specialization to enhance economic exchange between the UAE and France.
