Grevenbroich (dpa / lnw) - In Grevenbroich, a car collided with a train at a level crossing on Monday.
The driver of the car was seriously injured, said the fire department.
The driver had apparently tried to drive over the barred level crossing and had been hit by the train with the car.
According to an initial assessment, the passengers on the train were unharmed, said the fire department.
The railway line and the surrounding streets have been closed.
The fire brigade could not provide any information on the cause of the accident or property damage.
