Around 6:30 a.m. on the 6th, a train and a passenger car collided at the Nishi-Tengachaya No. 1 railroad crossing on the Nankai Electric Railway Koya Line, located in Tachibana 3-chome, Nishinari Ward, Osaka.



According to Nankai Electric Railway and the police, the 10 passengers on the train, a two-car train bound for Shiomibashi that stopped at each station, were uninjured, and the man in his 50s who was driving the car was not seriously injured.



The railroad crossing where the accident occurred is about 30 meters south of the Nishi-Tengachaya Station platform, and according to Nankai Electric Railway, when the driver slowed down to come to a stop, the railroad crossing gate that had been down went up. When he noticed the vehicle, he applied the emergency brake and stopped the vehicle.



At the time, the railroad crossing alarm had stopped sounding, so Nankai Electric Railway and the police are investigating the cause of the crossing in detail.



As a result of this accident, the Nankai Electric Railway Koya Line has suspended operation on the up and down lines between Shiomibashi and Kishisato-Tamade.
