After the discovery of human bones in a Vatican building in Roma, Italian investigators seem to see no evidence of a connection to the mysterious missing person case from 1983. Initial investigations have shown that the bones come from before 1964, the news agency reported ansa.

The bones had been found during the renovation of a building at the Vatican Embassy and had caused a stir in Italy at the end of October. A connection to the disappearance of the 15-year-old daughter of a Vatican court servant was quickly established.

Emanuela Orlandi did not return home after music lessons on June 22, 1983, and has been missing since then. Since it is still unclear what happened to her, entwine for decades rumors and conspiracy theories around the case.
