Astronaut Koichi Wakata, who experienced his fifth space flight, the most of any Japan person, gave a lecture at a Japanese school in the United States and encouraged the children to promote international cooperation by introducing how they loved Japan products while living in space.

Koichi Wakata has been on the International Space Station since October last year on his fifth space flight, the most by Japan person, and returned to Earth in March.

On the 5th, Mr. Wakata visited a Japanese school in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, and gave a lecture to children from the fourth grade of elementary school to the second year of high school.

In the lecture, Mr. Wakata explained the experiments and life on the space station with videos, and introduced how he loved Japan products such as Japan socks and Japanese space food.

In addition, the children asked various questions about life in space, and deepened their exchanges.

Mr. Wakata said, "I want the children to become a driving force for promoting international cooperation with Japan technology."

A female student in the second year of junior high school who participated said, "I was impressed by the fact that various companies are supporting us as a whole in our Japan, such as making things to go to space.

Mr. Osamu Suwa, who lives in the area and was selected as a candidate for Japan astronaut in February, also appeared at the venue and received encouragement from Mr. Wakata.
