Koichi Nishitani, the coach of Osaka Toin High School, is a 54-year-old from Hyogo Prefecture.



After playing as a catcher at Hotoku Gakuen in his hometown of Hyogo and Kansai University, he became the coach of Osaka Toin and was appointed manager in 1998.



In the summer of 2005, when he first took command as a manager at Koshien, he played national high school baseball and fielded pitchers such as Takanobu Tsujiuchi, a left-handed pitcher with a fastball over 150km/h, and Sho Nakata of Chunichi, who was a first-year player at the time. , achieved their first victory and advanced to the top four.



In the summer of 2008, in the national high school baseball tournament, he won his first championship in the spring and summer as a manager with a strong batting lineup led by Rakuten's Hideto Asamura.

In 2012, the team achieved back-to-back spring/summer titles with a battery of pitcher Shintaro Fujinami, who has been playing in the major leagues since last season, and Orix player Tomoya Mori.
