Tove Lo had four nominations in her luggage for the Grammy Awards. With the two awards for the latest album "Dirt femme", she also became the gala's biggest winner - and defeated tough competitors such as Ant Wan and Ghost.

– No, God, how happy I am. How I wish I was there right now, said Tove Lo in a pre-recorded acceptance speech from Mexico where she is at the moment.

Only woman won

Jonathan Johansson and Veronica Maggio won the awards in the categories Lyricist of the Year and Pop of the Year, respectively. The award in the category hip hop of the year went to the only nominated woman in the context: Cleo with the critically acclaimed album "Missaoui".

"This means a lot. There's so damn much stuff to say. We came from poop and a real fucking black hole. We created a world that brought me back to life," Cleo said in her acceptance speech.

Veterans' Eve

Otherwise, it was a bit of a veterans' evening over the event in Annexet in Stockholm. Swedish House Mafia received the award as electro/dance of the year, Ghost was named hard rock/metal of the year and First Aid Kit was named alternative pop of the year for the album "Palomino".

– We are so honored to be nominated in the same category as many artists that we love, said sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg, who together make up First Aid Kit.

The prize for newcomer of the year went to Cornelia Jakobs and this year's song went to Loam & Adaam: for "Fakka your". Just like at the alternative Manifest Gala earlier this year, Sara Parkman was recognized for the album "Eros Agape Philia", with the award for folk music of the year.
