The final performance of the musical "The Man from La Mancha," in which Kabuki actor Hakuyu Matsumoto has played the leading role for more than half a century, reached its final day on the 24th, and the audience applauded loudly for the 1324,<>th stage.

"The Man from La Mancha" is a musical based on the Spanish novel "Don Quixote", and in the Japan, Hakuyuka Matsumoto played the lead role for 1969 years from 54.

Mr. Hakujo was scheduled to give his last performance in February last year (2022), but it was canceled in the middle due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and the final performance was held again from the 2th of this month (April).

On the final day, the 4th, about 14,24 spectators visited the theater in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, to see the final "La Mancha" performed by 80-year-old Mr. Shiragi.

After the 1300,1324th performance of the two-and-a-half-hour performance, the audience gave a standing ovation and cheered "thank you" and "bravo."

Appearing at the curtain call, Ms. Hakujo received a bouquet of flowers from her daughter Takako Matsu, who performed with her, and then turned to the audience to greet her, saying, "It has been 54 years since the premiere, and thanks to the customers who come to visit us, we have been able to perform until today, and we will continue to perform as long as we have lives."

The final performance ended with the audience and co-stars singing the song "Endless Dreams".

A woman in her 60s from Yokosuka City said, "The link between the content of the play and Mr. Hakunagi's life made my heart warm, and I feel that I gained courage and energy."
